Ingredients :
- 1/2 pound of fresh sliced mushrooms
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 3 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sugar
- 3-1/2 cups uncooked spiral pasta
- 24 ounces shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided
- 20 ounces pineapple chunks, drained
- 1 cup fully cooked ham, cut in cubed
Making Tips :
- In a large saucepan, saute the mushroom, onion, green pepper and garlic in oil for 6 minutes or until tender
- Add in tomato sauce, bay leaves, oregano, basil and sugar. Bring to a boil
- Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for about 25 minutes or until thickened, stir frequently
- At the mean time, cook pasta according to package directions; drain
- Discard bay leave from sauce
- Add the pasta, 20 ounces mozzarella cheese, pineapple and ham
- Transfer to a greased shallow baking dish
- Sprinkle with remaining 4 ounces mozzarella cheese
- bake, uncovered at 120 degree celcious for 35 minutes or until heated through
- Yields for 14 servings
