Muar or Ma Po Tofu Recipes and Cooking Tips

Ingredients :
  • 2 pieces of tofu
  • 2 stalks of spring onion
  • 2 chilli
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon soybean paste
  • 1 tablespoon thick soy sauce
  • 1/6 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon sugar
  • 50g minced chicken meat
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed well with 2 tablespoon of water
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sichuan pepper

Method :

  • Cut tofu into small desired cubes
  • Chopped spring onion, garlic and chilli
  • Combine soypaste with 2 tablespoon of water, thick sauce, salt and sugar
  • Heat up 3 tablespoon of cooking oil
  • Fry minced chicken meat till separated and browned
  • Add spring onion, ginger and chilli and fry till fragrant
  • Stir in soybean paste then add tofu and 1/4 cup of water to cook for about 5 minutes over low flame
  • Stir in cornstarch mixture for thickening
  • Add in pepper and Sichuan pepper
  • Switch off the flame and ready to be serve

Chinese Cabbage with Fish Ball and Chicken Feet with Peanuts Soup Recipes and Cooking Tips

Soup usually everypne liking but cooking a tasty soup is not simple. Thats included selection and combination of ingredients becoming very important in order to cook a tasty soup. Let me share with you two types of soup recipes and cooking methods.

(A) Chinese Cabbage with Fish Ball Soup

Ingredients :

  • 2 pices of chicken bone
  • 1 slice of dried squid
  • 1 carrot cut in cube size
  • 300g chinese cabbage
  • 250gfish ball

Seasoning :

  • Salt add to taste
  • Gound pepper add to taste

Method :

  • Boil one liter of water
  • Add in chicken bones, dried squid and carrot.
  • Continue stewing with high flame then switch to low flame forone hour
  • Add in chinese cabbage, fish balls and seasoning
  • Cook for another 10 minutes with highh flame
  • Remove and ready to be serve

(2) Chicken Feet with Peanuts Soup

Ingredients :

  • 250g peanuts
  • 4 pairs of chicken feet
  • 1 drumstick chopped into 2 pieces
  • 4 black mushrooms
  • 1 carrot cut to desire sizes

Seasoning :

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon light soy sauce

Method :

  • Soak to soften peanuts with hot water for about 30 minutes
  • Rinse and drain off water and set aside
  • Soak to soften black mushrooms,drain off water
  • Slow cooker fill with 2 bowls of water and pour in the peanuts and simmer for 2 hours
  • Add in all others remaining ingredients and continue simmerfor another one hour
  • The soup is now ready to serve

Spicy Prawn Recipes

Ingredients :
  • 500g fresh prawns (shelled, deveined and wash in salt water)
  • 2 tomatoes cut in wedges
  • 2 large onions cut in slices
  • 4 pips garlic
  • 1 tablespoon chilli powder
  • Tamrind Juice (1 teaspoon tamarind mixed with 4 tablespoons water)
  • 1/2 cup thick coconut milk
  • 4 tabnlespoons cooking oil
  • Salt to taste

Methods :

  • Heat cooking oil in the saucepan and fry the garlic and onions for 3minutes over medium flame
  • Add in chilli powder
  • Add in tamarind juice and tomatoes
  • Fry till forms on the surface
  • Add in the prawns, thick coconut milk and salt to taste
  • Bring to boil over low flame
  • Continue cook for about 8 minutes
  • Remove from fire and read to be serve

Garlic and Marmite Chicken Recipes and Cooking Tips

Today I wish to share my 2 favourite chicken cooking style in garlic and marmite. Try it now and you will like most of the time. (especially children)



(1) Garlic Chicken


Ingredients :



  • 300g chicken (half bird) chopped in small pieces

  • 5 cloves garlic, sliced

  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil



Marinade :

  • 2 tablespoon light soy sauce

  • 2 teaspoon thick soy sauce

  • Ground pepper add to taste



Decoration :

  • coriander cut into desired sizes
  • chilli cut into desired sizes

Method :

  • Marinade chicken meat with marinated ingredients for 25 minutes

  • Heat up one tablespoon of cooking oil

  • Stir fry garlic slicves till fragrant

  • Add in marinated chicken meats and continue to fry for 3 minutes with high flame

  • Add in 2 tablespoon water and continue fry for another 6 minutes with medium flame

  • Place onto a plate and garnished with coriander

  • Ready to be serve.

(2) Marmite Chicken

Ingredients :

  • 2 chicken drumstick cut into 8 pieces

Marinade :

  • 1 1/2 tablespoon marmite
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons corn flour

Decoration :

  • Coriander cut to desired sizes
  • Chilli cut to desired sizes

Method :

  • Marinade the chicken drumstick with marinated ingredients for 15 minutes.
  • Fill wok with cooking oil which can completely cover chicken meat
  • Deep fry chicken meat till 20% cooked over medium flame
  • Switch to low flame and continue deep fry the chicken until golden brown
  • Dredge out and drain off the oil
  • Garnished with coriander and chilli
  • Ready to serve

Vegetarian Loh Han Zhai Recipes & Cooking Tips

Eat more vegetable and save the earth....Today, I wish to share one of the chinese popular vegetarian dish called : LOH HAN ZHAI.

Ingredients :
  • 8 dried mushrooms
  • 4 asparagus shoots
  • 180g cauliflower
  • 5 small chinese cabbage
  • 1/2 carrot
  • 10 button mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon extra origin olive oil
  • 3 strips of ginger

Seasoning :

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mushroom sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of pepper
  • A pinch of sugar

For Thickening :

  • Blend 1 teaspoon cornflour with 4 tablespoons of water

Method :

  • Soak the mushrooms in warm water until soften
  • Cutoff stems and season with above seasoning
  • Wash and cut vegetables in desired sizes
  • Place carrot, cauliflower at the base with small chinese cabbage at thetop in the saucepan
  • Add in 2 tablespoons of water
  • Scaldfor about 6 minutes over medium low flame
  • Heat up the cooking oil and fry ginger until fragrant
  • Add in seasoned mushrooms, button mushrooms follow by vegetables
  • Pour in the cornflourwith water
  • Mix well and the dish is ready to serve

Curry Fish Head Recipes and Cooking Tips

(A) Ingredients :
  1. 500g whole fish head or cut into pieces
  2. 4 tablespoon cooking oil
  3. 1/2 cup thick cocunut milk
  4. 1 cup diluted cocunut milk
  5. 5 ladies fingers
  6. 1 tomato cut into 4 pieces
  7. 1 onion cut into 4 pieces
  8. 1 binjal cut into desire sizes
  9. 1 cucumber cut into desire sizes
  10. 2 pieces chilli cut into slices
  11. 2 stalks lemon grass

(B) Curry Paste :

  1. 2 tablespoon curry powder
  2. 8 stalks dried chilli
  3. 7 pieces shallots
  4. 2 pips garlic
  5. 1.4cm blachan
  6. Item 2 to 5 grind finely

Methods :

  • Heat a saucepan with cooking oil and fry curry paste over medium to high flame
  • Pour in diluted coconut milk
  • Turn to low flame, add in (A) Ingredients 5 to 11 and cook for about 15 minutes till it boils
  • Add iin fish head follow by thick coconut milk
  • When its started to boil, switch off flame
  • Add salt according to taste
  • Ready to be served with plain rice

Potatoes Fried Rice Recipes

Today, I wish to introduce a simple and easy but delicious Potatoes Fried Rice.

Ingredients :
  • 1 potatoes cut in cubes
  • 1 onion cut in cubes
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 2 plate of white rice
  • 180g medium sized prawn, remove the shell
  • 120g chicken meat, cut in cubes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, grated

Seasonings :

  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thick soy sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoon soy sauce

Methods :

  • Heat 2 tablespoon of cooking oil and pour in the beaten egg
  • Stir fry evenly
  • Add in potatoes, chicken meat, onion and prawn sequentially
  • Stir fry till fragrant
  • Pour in white rice, addi in seasoning
  • Continue to stir-fry for another 5 minutes
  • Ready to serve.

Stir Fried Sting Ray With Bean Paste and Stir Fried Chicken

(1) Stir Fried Sting Ray with Bean Paste

Ingredients :
  • 350g sting ray fish cut into pieces
  • 1 piece ginger, shredded
  • 2 red chili, shredded
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon bean paste

Seasoning :

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon light sauce

Method :

  • Heat 3 tablespoon of oil
  • Stir fry shredded ginger, chili and bean paste until fragrant
  • Pour in fish and seasoning
  • Continue stir fry for another 6 minutes
  • Add on 1 cup of water and continue to cook for another 6 minutes with medium heat...then serve

(2) Salty Fried Chicken

Ingredients :

  • 1/2 chicken about 325g, chopped into small pieces

Marinade :

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon five spices powder

Dipping Sauce :

  • 2 red chili finely chopped
  • 5 shallots finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoon sour plum juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon balacan powder
  • Sugar add to taste

Methods :

  • Marinade chicken with marinated ingredient for 20 minutes
  • Heat one bowl of oil,pour in marinated chicken and deep fry with high heat till golden colour, dredge out drain off the oil
  • Mix well all the ingredient for dipping sauce for 10 minutes
  • Ready to serve together with deep fryied chicken.

Recipes and Cooking Tips for Salad Prawn and Teochew Steam Fish

Today I am sharing some classical chinese dishes called Salad Prawn and Teochew Steam Fish.

(A) Salad Prwan
  • Ingredients :
  1. 300g prawn with shell
  2. 1 pc of watermelon cut into cubes
  3. 1 pc of honey dew cut into cubes
  4. 1 pc of mango cut into cubes (optional)
  5. half apple cut into cubes (optional)
  • Seasoning :
  1. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  2. 5 tablespoon salad cream
  • Methods:
  1. Season prawn with salt and steam for 5 minutes
  2. Off the heat and leave to cool
  3. Pour the prawn and other ingredients and well in the mixing bowl
  4. Add in 1 tablespoon of water into salad cream and mix well
  5. Add in all the well mixed ingredients
  6. Preserved in refrigerator for one hour, then serve.

(B) Teochew Steam Fish

  • Ingredients :
  1. 600g garoupa fish
  2. 6 slices ginger, shredded
  3. 2 preserved plum, crushed
  4. 1 large tomato, cut into 4 pices
  5. 2 pcs pickled swatow mustard cabbage,shredded
  • Seasoning :
  1. 1 teaspoon light so sauce
  2. 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • Methods :
  1. Rinse the fish and put onto metal plate
  2. Steam the fish for 2 minuteswith high heat, pour off the whitish liquid
  3. Spread ingredients all over the fish
  4. Mix in 2 tablespoon of water into seasoning
  5. Pour over the fish
  6. Continue steam for another 8 minutes and ready to serve

Note :

Steaming time may be longer depending on fish size. If the fish size bigger then longer steaming times is required.

  • Good to have 10 to 20 minutes exercise thereafter. by;
  • Slowly tilt up and down both toes,
  • Similar time, swinging both arms front and back.

Special Paella Recipes and Making Tips :
Ingredient s:
  1. 1 whole chicken about 650g
  2. 180g tuna fish
  3. 225g canned mussels
  4. 1 small can of young peas
  5. 240g tomatoes
  6. 480g boled rice
  7. 1 onion
  8. 1 red paprika
  9. 1 green paprika
  10. 5 cloves of garlic
  11. Salts and Pepper to taste
Cooking Tips :
  • Wash the chicken and cut into small size.
  • Heat up and brown on all sides of chicken.
  • Add in tomatoes, onion, paprikas, cloves of garlic.
  • Put the lid on, switch to smallest heat and cook for 40 minutes.
  • Mix in the boiled rice, tuna fish, mussels and peas with meat, sprinkle pepper and salt on.
  • Put the lid on and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Pour on olive oil and mix well to taste.

Oyster Sauce Fried Chicken with Vegetable Recipes and Making Tips

Today I am going to share with you recipes and making tips of Oyster Sauce Fried Chcken and Vegetable.

(A) Ingredient :
  1. 600g whole chicken
  2. 4 tablespoons cooking oil
  3. 7 slices of ginger
  4. 3 pips garlic cut into slices
  5. 5 pieces of dried mushroom
  6. 200g carrots cut into slices
  7. 100g cauliflower cut into small piece
  8. 1 can of button mushroom
  9. 1 big green pepper cut into slices
  10. 100g cow pea
  11. 1 stick of celery
  12. 2 pieces of red chilli
  13. 2 stalks spring onions cut into 5cm length

(B) Seasoning :

  1. 1 teaspoon salt
  2. 1/2 tablespoon thick soya sauce
  3. 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
  4. 1 teaspoon cornflour

(C) Sauce :

  1. 2 teaspoon cornflour
  2. 5 tablespoon water
  3. 1/2 tablespoon soya bean paste

Method :

  1. Clean and chop chicken into pieces, add seasoning "(C)". Marinate for 10minutes.
  2. Using the chicken fryer, add cooking oil and fry garlic and ginger till brown over medium flame.
  3. Add in chicken and fry for a few seconds. Then pour in vegetable (Ingredient (A) 5 to 8). Cover and cook for 5 minutes over low flame.
  4. Next, add in vegetable (Ingredient (A) 9 to 13. Stir evenly and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Lastly, add sauce (D). Mix well and switch off flame and dish is ready to be served.

Tropical Pizza Pasta Special Recipes and Making Tips

Tropical Pizza Pasta Special is one my favourate pizza delighted all my familiy members!



Ingredients :


  1. 1/2 pound of fresh sliced mushrooms

  2. 1 medium onion, chopped

  3. 2 garlic cloves, minced

  4. 1 medium green pepper, chopped

  5. 3 tablespoon vegetable oil

  6. 15 ounces tomato sauce

  7. 2 bay leaves

  8. 1/2 teaspoon dried basil

  9. 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  10. 1/2 teaspoon fine sugar

  11. 3-1/2 cups uncooked spiral pasta

  12. 24 ounces shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese, divided

  13. 20 ounces pineapple chunks, drained

  14. 1 cup fully cooked ham, cut in cubed

Making Tips :



  • In a large saucepan, saute the mushroom, onion, green pepper and garlic in oil for 6 minutes or until tender

  • Add in tomato sauce, bay leaves, oregano, basil and sugar. Bring to a boil

  • Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered for about 25 minutes or until thickened, stir frequently

  • At the mean time, cook pasta according to package directions; drain

  • Discard bay leave from sauce

  • Add the pasta, 20 ounces mozzarella cheese, pineapple and ham

  • Transfer to a greased shallow baking dish

  • Sprinkle with remaining 4 ounces mozzarella cheese

  • bake, uncovered at 120 degree celcious for 35 minutes or until heated through

  • Yields for 14 servings

Fresh Coconut Pound Cake Making Tips

Hi welcome back...Today I wish to share with you another good taste of pound cake made from freshy coconut.

Ingredients :
  1. 1 cup of butter
  2. 3 cups of sugar
  3. 6 eggs
  4. 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
  5. 3 cups of fine flour
  6. 1 cup of fresh coconut milk
  7. 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
  8. 1/6 teaspoon of salt
  9. 1 carton (8 ounces) sour cream

Icing Making :

  1. 1/2 cup of vegetable shortening
  2. 4 cups of confectioners' sugar
  3. 1/4 cup water
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  5. 1/8 teaspoon salt

Method :

  • Gradually adding sugar into softened cream butter in large mixing bowl
  • Beat until mixture is light and fluffy
  • Add in one egg at a time, beating well after each addition, beat in vanilla essence
  • Combine the flour, baking soda and salt
  • Add to cream mixture alternately with sour cream, begining and ending with flour mixture
  • Stir in coconut milk
  • Pour batter into greased 10-in tube pan
  • Bake at temperature 120 degree celcious for 1 hour 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
  • Cool for about 10 minutes before removing from the pan to let it cool down completely
  • Make icing by combine all icing ingredients in large mixing bowl and beat until fluffy
  • Frost top and sides
  • Yield for 16 Servings

This evening, I came across the following food guide article believe very good sharing for diabetics. Uses food guide as a tool in our daily diet food planning with good combination of variety food in a day. It is important to provide better control over our our sugar. The following can be considered as Ideal Concept For Diabetic Diet :
(A) Breakfast
  • High Complex Carbohydrate - suggestion for 1~ 2 servings of Complex Carbiohydrate of oats, wholemeal bread, brown rice, noodle, oatbran.
  • High Fibre without sugar -suggestion 1~2 servings of Soluble Fibre of oatbran, vegetable,fruits, rolledoats
  • Moderate Low Protein Low Fat - 1 serving of Daily/ Protein Alternatives of skimmed milk, egg white, soya millk, lean meat, low fat yogurt

(B) Lunch/ Dinner

  • Moderate Complex Carbohydrate - 1~2 servings of Complex Carbohydrate of wholemeal bread, brown rice, oats, noodles, white rice

  • 1 medium (100gm) raw fish
  • 2 matchbox size (60gm) raw chicken
  • 2 matchbox size (60gm) raw meat
  • 6 medium prawn, squid
  • 1 glass (250ml or 2 tablespoons) skim milk

One (1) Serving Size for Fruits and Vegetables

  • 1 medium (120gm) banana
  • 5 ~ 6 rambutans, grapes
  • 1 cupful cooked leafy vegetable
  • 1/2 cupful non-leafy vegetable such as tomato, carrot, brocolli, beans
  • 1 medium or 1/2 large (130gm~150gm) apple, pear, orange, guava
  • 1 wedge/ 1 slice (150gm ~ 200gm) papaya, watermelon, Pineapple
  • 2 cupfuls raw leafy green vegetable
Snowy Banana Yogurt Making Tips (2 Servings) :
  • Chopped into small pieces of 2 medium banana
  • Blend well the 2 chopped banana
  • Add on 2 glasses of skim milk/ yogurt and continue blending for 2 minutes
  • Can be serve immediately or keep in refrigerator and serve chill
  • Do not keep overnight

Durian Cheese Cake Recipes......continue

Hi, I am back to continue providsing you guys the cooking method for Durian & Cheese Cake. It is simple but delicious. Try it yourself, it will be surprisingly good.

Step by Step Method:


  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar, butter & vanila essense & salt.

  2. Blend in medium speed in one direction until the butter fully expanded or turned white.

  3. Add on the cheese and blend well.

  4. Add on one egg at a time by slower speed or beating well after each addition.

  5. Slowly add in mixture of flour and baking powder.

  6. Grease 2 X 8-inc square baking pans.

  7. Pour into baking pans.

  8. Bake at 115 degree celsious for 50 minutes.

  9. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

  10. Yield : 6 ~ 8 servings.

Durian Cheese Cake Recipes

Today, I have successfully completed my firsst Durian Cheuese Caoke Reciipes.....Its delicious.....

Just to share with you guys the following recipes.

Ingredients :

  1. Butter 250gm
  2. Fine Sugar 150gm
  3. 1 teaspoon vanila essence
  4. 1/8 teaspoon salt
  5. Flour 280gm
  6. Cheese 100gm
  7. Baking Powder 1/2 teaspoon
  8. 5 Eggs
  9. Durian (Local Fruit) 2 tablespoon.
  10. Durian can be replace with chopped orange skin one table spoon
